Types of Warts
The most common types of warts are:

Common Wart: a wart with a rough surface that is raised and is typically found on the hands.

Flat Wart: most common on the face, neck, hands, wrists and knees and is typically small, flat and flesh colored.

Genital Wart: a wart that is found on the genitalia.

Mosaic Wart: a cluster of warts.

Periungual Wart: occurs around the nails and is cauliflower-like.

Plantar Wart: a wart that is typically found on the feet and can be classified as a hard lump with black specks in the center of it.
Wart Treatment Options
Warts are caused by the human papillomavirus, of which there are about 130 different types. A wart is formed when the HPV infects an area of the skin. The wart itself is the benign growth caused by the HPV.
Luckily, there are a variety of treatment options when it comes to removing warts. The most common is salicylic acid which one of our dermatologists can prescribe. There are also a number of procedures that can be used to remove the wart itself. Among these include cryotherapy, immunotherapy and bleomycin.
